A fruitless search.

"Every leaf and twig was this morning covered with a sparkling ice armor; even the grasses in exposed fields were hung with innumerable diamond pendants, which jingled merrily when brushed by the foot of the traveler. It was literally the wreck of jewels and the crash of gems....Such is beauty ever-neither here nor there, now nor then-neither in Rome nor in Athens, but wherever there is a soul to admire. If I seek her elsewhere because I do not find her at home, my search will prove a fruitless one." -Henry David Thoreau

I look at so many people I know complaning about how shit they think there town is or how there is never anything to do and that moving to another area will make everything better. I used to listen to these people and think to myself that the only problem you have is that you have either, no imagination or you lack the intelligence to find things to do. A much smarter person than me was quoted as saying "only the man lacking intelligence is ever bored". Never have I heard a more true statment than this. It is as simple as reading a book, but if you do feel you have to leave your house then there is a world of endless possibilities, go for a walk and just look up, look up at trees, look up at the sky, look up at the top of buildings, watch branches move in the wind, follow birds with your eyes. Look at something that you would not normally look at, just take a different perspective on the things you look at everyday, it is amazing what you will realise you have been walking past everyday and have never noticed. There is never nothing going on. Go for a swim, ride a bike, turn off you television, learn a language do anything that might stimulate your mind. This is the only reason you are bored, because you are not stimulating your mind, just do something different that you would not normally do.

If you think moving, without actually trying to change something as a person will solve all your problems, then I hope that it works for you. Learn to be alone, its the best thing you will ever do for yourself!

"There is never nothing going on."
